Friends!!!! I got to interview Bunmi Laditan about her new book, Dear God: Honest prayers to a God who listens.
Bunmi Laditan is an award winning, webby-nominated author. She went viral a few years ago when she created the hilarious Twitter account, The Honest Toddler. She has contributed to The New York Times, Parenting and The Huffington Post, and is best known for the satirical Honest Toddler account and her debut novel, Confessions of a Domestic Failure.
In her new book, Dear God: Honest prayers to a God who listens, Bunmi writes with the same gutsy and poetic honesty that has charmed readers around the world. She's now sharing the faith side of her life with her funny, often heartbreaking and deeply insightful prayers. She will stir your heart and make you laugh out loud with her self-aware humor and profound insight into the spiritual journey we're all trying to navigate.
One day she prayed to a God she wasn't sure even existed and ask "who are you?" and he answered. Reconnecting with the God she loved, then lost, she realized he had never left her side even while she wandered. In this book Bunmi journeys through emotions we all experience: doubt, anger, joy, desperation, love, loneliness and grateful. She exquisitely names our fears, voices our painful questions and bravely says what we're all thinking in our prayerful wrestling with God.
I've followed Bunmi for several years and I truly feel SO seen and affirmed when I read her writing. She speaks to my soul and this new book is no different! I am so grateful she is sharing her journey of faith. I know she is going to connect with so many through this and lead people to Jesus! What a gift. I know you're going to enjoy this interview!
